Caveat Lector

Notebook Found in a Deserted House

Based upon the Brazen Head of myth... and seeking something to use besides the trusty Balsamo Skull to use as an Oracle... behold!

The Crystal Mind of Azoth.

For getting started on the Brazen Head, some information - JUST CLICK

Some say the heads represent the Head of Baphomet as well...Click away!

Of course, the Carcosans have always loved such items from the days a Brazen Head was up for action in the fictional(?) worlds of HPL...

It is rumoured that the Crystal Mind was created by a victorian scientist who combined alchemy with innovative scientific breakthroughs to create a sentient artificial intelligence that was connected to worlds beyond ours.  Through the proper sequence of actions... or spells... or whatever view point you wish to look at it from... the Mind would be able to answer terrible secrets.

More information regarding the creator and head may be released in the future...

We do know that Balsamo and the Mind do enjoy chatting with each other - swapping arcane secrets and darker truths in their alcoves in the collection.  In fact, you can hear inhuman mechanical laughter and chattering bones of mirth nighty.

A Cautionary Note on Coveting

"Immediately upon beholding this amulet we knew that we must possess it; that this treasure alone was our logical pelf from the centuried grave. Even had its outlines been unfamiliar we would have desired it, but as we looked more closely we saw that it was not wholly unfamiliar. Alien it indeed was to all art and literature which sane and balanced readers know, but we recognised it as the thing hinted of in the forbidden Necronomicon of the mad Arab Abdul Alhazred; the ghastly soul-symbol of the corpse-eating cult of inaccesible Leng, in Central Asia. All too well did we trace the sinister lineaments described by the old Arab daemonologist; lineaments, he wrote, drawn from some obscure supernatural manifestation of the souls of those who vexed and gnawed at the dead. "

Please read THE HOUND to understand that sometimes, the price is too high for obtaining an artifact of mystery.  Keep that in mind as you wander the galleries.

The Book

Thought of the Eon

There is a concept that is the corrupter and destroyer of all others. I speak not of Evil, whose limited empire is that of ethics; I speak of the infinite.

-Jorge Luis Borges
